The difference between the two seems pretty stark to me. <BR/><BR/>That said, men can be predatory toward teenagers. I think statutory rape laws are a good faith effort to handle the situation of 25 year olds preying on 14 year old girls while accounting for the fact that teenagers sometimes have sex and it isn't a crime. That's why, here in enlightened Alabama :), the law allows an exception if the difference in age is no more two years. Perfect? Nope? Are there better approaches? I'm open.<BR/><BR/>Full disclosure: My children are both adopted out of situations involving teenage birthmothers.
